Installation Tutorials

How to Install YimMenu (Step by Step)

Step 1: Download the latest YimMenu release from the official GitHub page. You need the YimMenu.dll file.

Step 2: Download a DLL injector. YimMenu is an ASI mod, so you need either an ASI loader (like Script Hook V's ASI loader) or a standalone DLL injector like the one bundled with YimMenu releases.

Step 3: Launch GTA V. Wait until you are in the main menu or in-game.

Step 4: Run your DLL injector as Administrator. Select GTA5.exe as the target process, then select YimMenu.dll as the module to inject.

Step 5: Press F5 or Insert in-game to open the YimMenu interface.

Step 6: Navigate the menu using arrow keys. Press Enter to select options, Backspace to go back.

How to Install Script Hook V

Step 1: Download Script Hook V from the official site.

Step 2: Extract the ZIP file. You should see ScriptHookV.dll, dinput8.dll, and NativeTrainer.asi.

Step 3: Copy all files into your main GTA V installation directory (where GTA5.exe is located).

Step 4: Launch GTA V. Press F4 in-game to open the Native Trainer.

Note: Script Hook V must be updated after every GTA V title update. Check the official site for the latest version.

How to Use Lua Scripts

Step 1: Install Script Hook V (see above).

Step 2: Download the Lua Plugin for Script Hook V.

Step 3: Copy LuaPlugin.asi and the scripts folder into your GTA V directory.

Step 4: Place any .lua scripts inside the scripts/addins folder.

Step 5: Launch GTA V. Scripts will auto-load on startup. Press Insert to reload scripts at runtime.

How to Stay Safe While Modding

1. Never use mods on your main account. Create a secondary Steam/Epic account for modding.

2. Avoid using money drops or RP modifications on populated servers. These are the most detected features.

3. Use self-protection features (like YimMenu's protection tab) to block crashes and kicks from other modders.

4. Keep your mods updated. Outdated mod menus are more likely to trigger anti-cheat detection.

5. Do not use mods in Rockstar Created Content or official races. Stay in private sessions when possible.
